This project was made for the Rethinking Competition in Spain. The task was to design a viewpoint with services to the most visited and popular viewpoint in Norway. There were some problems with the design place, for example there wasn’t any fence to protect the visitors and there was a big crack on the cliff, which is predicted to make end of this viewpoint in the future. Because of these effects, I decided to design a closed glasscube inside the cliff to protect the visitors, but the view experience would remain. The building will last longer than the cliff, since it is integrated into the mountain, behind the crack, and after the „death” of the cliff, the building will be visible, and it gives unique experience to the visitors, with the glass slabs under and on the roof, plus glasss wall in every direction. The building includes the services, fresh water, toilets and storages at the hidden part, inside the mountain. The viewpoint has an individual bear holding structure with pillars and beams of steel. This is one way to protect the existing and dying natural places in the way of architecture.
